I’m Rachel Papworth and I’m here to help you declutter and live a lower impact life.

I can’t help decluttering. It’s automatic. Few things make me happier than getting rid of things, finding better ways to organise my stuff or creating new storage space. I positively glow with happiness for days after I reorganise a cupboard or drawer.

Where A=decluttering and B=low impact living

And just like decluttering, finding ways to reduce my environmental impact sends me straight into chuffed-mode.

Best of all is when the same action ticks both of my boxes.

Did you do Venn diagrams at school? The way I see it, if you drew a Venn diagram with decluttering in one circle, and low impact living in the other, there’d be a big fat overlap between the two. Maybe there should be four circles in fact ‘cos it saves time and money too.

I’ve been refining my approach to green decluttering for over 35 years. And now, building on my Psychology degree from the University of Sussex, and four years’ of personal development training and coaching with Landmark Education, I’m making my approach available to others. Having been featured in the Brighton Evening Argus, and commissioned to undertake work for organisations as diverse as KPMG, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Department for Communities & Local Government, I’m now working with people with way too much stuff, supporting  them to declutter and create homes and offices that enable them to live their lives to the full.

  1. Hey Rachel

You have no idea how jealous I am of you! Moving to Brighton is in my list of things I have to do before i’m 45, it’s my spiritual home!
i’ve subscribed to your blog, looking forward to hearing more about the green life – I try but sometime need some guidence.

  2. Welcome. Thanks for subscribing. I wish I could say something to ease your jealousy. I can’t though ‘cos the truth is, living in Brighton IS fabulous. 🙂 I hope you find the blog useful. I’ll welcome feedback on my posts.

I have a friend who wants to move from Wales to Brighton (remember the mature male belly dancer?)…looking for simple cheap accommodation and opportunities to use his theatrical, healing, magical and people skills. Can we recycle this lovely man from one county to the next with freedom and ease?

  3. Hi Oshi. I’m sure we can. If he emails me a short summary of what he’s looking for (kind of accommodation, price, timing, what sort of work opportunities he’s seeking), I’ll willingly post it to various forums.
